French fashion brand KENZO has arrived in Sydney, opening the doors of its first New South Wales store in the iconic Queen Victoria Building (QVB) managed by Vicinity Centres. Their second Australian store to open in 2020 features debut collections by head designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista including men and women’s ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, footwear and kidswear. Earlier this year, KENZO opened its first Australian store at Chadstone in Melbourne on 8 May.

Playing homage to its street aesthetic, a medley of raw materials including mirror, cement and white adonised aluminium combine to contrast the white walls, allowing the strikingly polychrome merchandise to pop. Fluorescent tube lighting suspended overhead adds another level of geometric clout to the space.

QVB Regional Manager, Shane Carswell said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome KENZO to the Queen Victoria Building where this global powerhouse sits alongside iconic international retailers and Australian brands. As the home for KENZO’s first New South Wales store, we know are our customers and visitors to our centre are excited to enjoy a true KENZO in-store fashion and design experience.”

Founded in Paris in 1970 by Kenzo Takada, the fashion brand is renowned for its distinctive tiger-head logo and for infusing positive energy into their daring fashion that celebrates nature and cultural diversity. The store’s architectural design features include its updated brand logo and a striking façade covered by blue marble. The new Sydney store juxtaposes QVB’s heritage features with the brand’s boldness to create a uniquely KENZO design and shopping experience.

QVB has had several exciting changes with Polo Ralph Lauren opening a new, expanded store showcasing classic men’s and women’s collections as well as products exclusive to the store. Renowned French fashion house Longchamp has also relocated its boutique with a luxurious new space offering a dedicated area for Longchamp’s personalisation service “MyPliage” which is an Australian-first. The new space offers women’s leather bags, small leather goods and the brand’s long-time bestseller Le Pliage®.
