Prepare to walk down memory lane as one of Brisbane’s largest shopping centres, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, celebrates half a century of proudly local community and retailer stories.

Brisbane locals now have the chance to indulge in nostalgia overload and take part in a mini-historical masterclass of their own local city, with Indooroopilly Shopping Centre hosting a free in-centre gallery historical trail around the shopping centre to celebrate 50 years of community and retailer stories.

Brisbane locals have the chance to indulge in nostalgia at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre

Proudly local since 1970, the in-centre experience will include a range of stories told through gallery-styled installations throughout August (10 August 2020 – 30 August 2020), and additional stories will be shared on the centre’s Facebook page. A replica of the original Indooroopilly Shoppingtown sign has also been resurrected and will be displayed to compliment the in-centre activations.

Promising to be equal parts informative and light-hearted, celebrate this 50th birthday like no other by taking part in a historical trail throughout one of the city’s largest shopping destinations.

Managed by AMP Capital, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is the super-regional centre for the western suburbs of Brisbane. The centre is anchored by Myer, David Jones, Kmart, Target, Coles and Woolworths, and more than 360 specialty stores.
