Hyperdome Centre Management and the centre’s cleaning contractors stepped away from the office and into the local community last week with biodegradable rubbish bags and gloves in hand for a special cause.
With Clean Up Australia Day taking place on Sunday 7th March, the team rallied together early ahead of the official national event, ‘stepping up to clean up’ the Logan surrounds.
Taking to nearby Mandew Park, Hyperdome marketing, operations and administration team members joined forces with the centre’s cleaning contractors Millennium to collect rubbish from the popular local family hotspot.
“We are proud to pledge our support to this very important initiative and help to clean up our incredible community,” said Brian Turner, Centre Manager of Hyperdome Shopping Centre. “As a centre, we are firmly focused on connecting with and giving back to our local community, and this forms part of this commitment.
“We encourage everyone to register their interest in this annual community-based environmental event and do their part to conserve our parks, shared areas and neighbourhoods, and prevent rubbish and waste from entering our environment, waterways and landfill.
“It’s also a timely reminder to take check of what we all can do to live more sustainably, from recycling to reducing, reusing and even implementing a home composting system,” he said.
Hyperdome Shopping Centre is Logan’s largest shopping, dining and entertainment destination, just 20 minutes south of Brisbane. The centre is home to more than 220 retailers, including majors Big W, Kmart, Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, Event Cinemas and Zone Bowling. Hyperdome continues to maintain a range of precautionary measures to help keep the community safe.
