Highpoint, Melbourne’s largest shopping destination west of the CBD, will welcome new retailers to the centre in late 2022 including IKEA Australia’s brand-new format, IKEA Plan and Order Point, and Toymate, opening one of its largest one-stop toy shops in Victoria.
The never-before-seen IKEA Australia format will offer one-to-one advice on home and living solutions, navigating some of the more complex furnishing products and services IKEA offers. Unique to Highpoint, IKEA Plan and Order Point will provide inspiration and solutions for customers wanting to create their dream kitchen or wardrobe, complete with a more personalised customer experience. Shoppers will be able to order what they need at the Plan and Order Point location and then choose home delivery or pick up their items at a collection point close by.
Chris Barnett, Head of Retail and Mixed-Use at The GPT Group said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming this exciting new IKEA format to Highpoint. At GPT we are always looking to attract new and unique retail offerings that draw customers to our shopping centres. IKEA will join the many in-demand retailers choosing Highpoint, reflecting the presence Highpoint has as Melbourne’s largest shopping centre in Melbourne’s west. We look forward to the opening of IKEA Plan and Order Point very soon.”
Cristina Persico, Centre Manager at Highpoint added: “IKEA Plan and Order Point will elevate the overall experience for Highpoint shoppers, providing them with premium advice in-centre to create one-of-kind lifestyle spaces at home.”
Joining IKEA at Highpoint will be Australia’s number one toy superstore, Toymate, who has become the fastest growing toy retailer in the country with more than 10,000 products on offer and some of the best deals on toys, sporting, bikes, scooters, trading cards and collectables.
Toymate Founder and CEO Danny Bloom said that the opening of the Highpoint store “is a celebration of everything Toymate stands for. It’s about creating an iconic space for kids to explore, learn and play. We know the importance that toys and play bring to a child’s life and it brings us so much joy to see their excitement when they first enter a Toymate Superstore.”
Toymate’s Highpoint Superstore will be the first in Victoria to offer a full toy, outdoor and baby range through baby brand, Babymate, offering expecting and new parents all the best baby brands, with baby experts to help guide them on what would best suit their needs.
Persico added: “We’re thrilled to be introducing one of Toymate’s largest Victorian stores to the many young families of Melbourne’s north and west. It’s the perfect addition to our extensive family offering, joining Australia’s only Funderdome and our brand-new indoor playground The Treehouse in The Atrium.”
IKEA Plan and Order Point and Toymate at Highpoint join the recently-opened Cue with its largest flagship store in Melbourne, Krispy Kreme new drive-thru with the world-famous doughnut retailer’s first store in Melbourne’s west, the very latest Rebel rCX concept which recently opened in March, as well as Kmart.
