Hawaiian has launched a new online shopping platform for Perth customers to buy from their favourite local retailers without having to leave home.

For customers wanting an online shopping experience, Hawaiian Marketplace gives shoppers the opportunity to shop locally and support WA businesses at the click of a button. For small businesses without the time and resources to create and drive traffic to their own e-commerce solution, Hawaiian does the heavy lifting; offering our local bricks-and-mortar retailers another sales channel.

Hawaiian Marketplace was created as a result of changes in consumer shopping behaviour. This new multi-vendor platform supports specialty retailers at Hawaiian’s six Perth shopping centres by managing sales and the delivery of products, direct to customers’ doors and at no charge to tenants.

The site has more than 400 products available for purchase and offers non-contact, free delivery within 5km of the local Hawaiian shopping centre, or Click & Collect options.

The unique service will benefit retailers and customers

Hawaiian General Manager Shopping Centres, Scott Greenwood, said Hawaiian Marketplace complements in-store sales and customers can purchase from multiple retailers within one centre, in a single transaction.

“We’re pleased to be able to support our local retailers and community by providing this unique service, which recognises the needs of both our tenants and our customers,” he said.

“Research shows that retailers with physical stores and an online presence performed better during the pandemic lockdown than those with only an online platform. Hawaiian Marketplace recognises this change in consumer behaviour and evolves with it.”

In August, online retail sales grew +60.6% year-on-year, while bricks-and-mortar retail sales grew +6.9% year-on-year (source: NAB Online Retail Sales Index, Australian Bureau of Statistics Retail Sales) showing the benefit of the dual sales avenues.

Hawaiian Marketplace is available at Hawaiian’s Mezz (Mount Hawthorn), Hawaiian’s Noranda, Hawaiian’s Park Centre (East Victoria Park), Hawaiian’s Melville, Hawaiian’s Forrestfield and Hawaiian’s Bassendean.
