The GPT Group has announced the appointment of Merran Edwards as Chief Financial Officer effective no later than 1 July 2024. Edwards will join GPT from Investa where she has been the Head of Investment Management and Chief Financial Officer.
Edwards joined Investa in 2021 and has more than 20 years’ experience in real estate, finance and investment banking. Previously, Edwards held the position of Chief Financial Officer at AMP Capital Real Estate, where she oversaw the Finance and Risk functions for the ~$28 billion portfolio of assets in the Asia Pacific region. In addition to financial responsibility, Edwards drove the global strategy, business planning and strategic partnerships for the real estate business.
Edwards has also held various real estate and corporate advisory roles, including eight years at UBS in the Investment Banking division where she led several merger and acquisition transactions, and six years at KPMG in Transaction Services, specialising in financial due diligence.
Edwards has a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in finance and accounting and a minor in law. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
