The GPT Group has announced changes to its leadership team with the appointment of Mark Harrison as its new Chief Investment Officer, and Mark Fookes, GPT’s Chief Operating Officer to retire.
Harrison has been appointed to assist in the delivery of GPT’s strategy and to drive profitable and sustainable growth and long-term value for Securityholders. He will be responsible for investments, portfolio management, strategy, capital transactions, corporate development, research and other associated functions.
Harrison will join GPT from Blackstone where he held the role of Managing Director for the Real Estate Group based in Sydney. Before joining Blackstone, Harrison was the Head of Capital Transactions for Charter Hall where he led and was responsible for the acquisition and divestment of real estate assets primarily across the office, retail and logistics sectors. Prior to this, Harrison was a Divisional Director at Knight Frank Valuations with more than ten years of valuation experience.
Harrison will commence with GPT as soon as practicable.
Commenting on the appointment, GPT’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Russell Proutt said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Harrison as GPT’s CIO. Mark’s extensive multi-sector domestic and global experience will be valuable in supporting the development and execution of GPT’s growth strategy.”
In addition to the appointment, GPT also announced its Chief Operating Officer Mark Fookes will be retiring.
Fookes has been with GPT since 2005 and during his time has held a number of key roles across the Group.
