Family-owned property development business GLG has announced its $35-million redevelopment plans for the Fidler & Webb retail precinct in Mount Gambier, including confirmation of ALDI and Target as anchor tenants.

Plans are currently with the Development Assessment Commission, with construction anticipated to commence in late 2017. ALDI will occupy a 1,740m2 space and Target will occupy a new 5,710m2 tenancy, supported by a new light-filled mall, 31 specialty retail tenancies and circa 300 on-site car parks.

In addition to revitalising Mount Gambier’s central township, the Fidler & Webb retail precinct will provide employment and economic benefits significant to Mount Gambier, regional South Australia and the state as a whole. The direct employment impact of the proposed development is estimated at approximately 160 development industry jobs. Once complete and full tenanted, it is estimated that the Fidler & Webb retail precinct will generate around 280 ongoing jobs for the region.
