Frasers Property Australia Chief Executive Officer Anthony Boyd has been promoted to the role of Group Chief Operating Officer for Frasers Property Limited, with Cameron Leggatt to step up to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Australia.

Emily Wood takes over as Executive General Manager Development, the role vacated by Leggatt to be supported by John Dawson, who takes on the new role of General Manager – National Operations, reporting to Wood.

The new roles for members of Frasers Property Australia are among key organisational changes announced this week by Frasers Property Limited, which aim to draw deeper on Group synergies, strengthen business resilience, and build further on its strengths from both a geography and asset class perspective.

In his new role, Boyd will work closely with Group Chief Executive Officer Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi and other members of the global executive leadership team to execute the Group’s strategy.

Boyd has been CEO of Frasers Property Australia for the past four years and during his 19-year tenure with the company has also held the roles of Executive General Manager Residential and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the company, he worked in senior roles with Cathay Pacific Airways and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

“There are many opportunities in front of us as a global business and we have the scale, depth of expertise and strong platforms within our various business units to harness and capitalise on these opportunities,” said Boyd.

“I’m looking forward to working more closely with Panote and other members of the senior leadership team to drive our strategy and create efficiencies throughout the business. I’m also very proud that the depth of talent in our Australian team and our succession planning provides such opportunities and pathways for our people.”

Leggatt has been with Frasers Property for 13 years and prior to the Executive General Manager Development role, he was General Manager of the company’s Queensland business. Prior to joining the company, he was an Associate Director at Macquarie Bank.

“It is an honour to take on the role of CEO of a business with such a long and proud history in Australia, which celebrates its centenary this year,” says Leggatt.

“Amid the broader challenges of the current operating environment, our focus will be to execute our customer-focused strategy and deliver high quality communities for Australians. We will also look to continue to improve project outcomes and grow the business prudently whilst continuing to expand the involvement of joint venture and capital partners. With our strong and resilient business model, and with 100% of our corporate finance secured through sustainability-linked loans, we are well placed to deliver on this strategy.

“We have a strong pipeline of work across the country, diversified across the build to rent, social and affordable housing, land, land and housing, apartment, commercial and retail sectors.

“In 2024, we’ll launch our major new Yarraville community, Bradmill, and our recent Windermere acquisition, which is adjacent to our Mambourin community in Melbourne’s west. Our first residents will move into Midtown MacPark in Sydney and in Brisbane we are preparing for the launch of our new community at New Beith.

“We have a busy year ahead and the best possible team to deliver for our customers,” said Leggatt.

Emily Wood – Executive General Manager Development, Frasers Property Australia

Wood joined Frasers Property in 2014 following roles at Lendlease and Henley.

At Frasers Property, she has previously held the role of Victorian Marketing and Sales Manager before taking on national roles in 2018 as General Manager National Marketing and General Manager, Brand and Customer. Wood is looking forward to her new role.

“In 2024, we celebrate our 100th birthday at Frasers Property Australia. Over the decades, we’ve honed our belief so that today, we are clear on why we exist: to create belonging,” she said.

“Our partnership with Ending Loneliness Together aligns with this belief and opens up important new opportunities. By understanding the issues leading to loneliness more completely, we can work to create and trial different ideas that will help address the issue as they relate to home design, public spaces and amenity, community social programs and more.

“The lessons and insights we’ll gather through our work with Ending Loneliness Together will shape the way we make places and build communities for the next 100 years,” said Wood.

John Dawson – Director National Operations, Frasers Property Australia

Dawson was previously an Associate Director in project management at Savills before joining Frasers Property as a Development Director in 2017.

Leggatt says the new appointments will ensure the company’s customer-centric strategy is enhanced through the development business.

“In recent years we have worked hard on our branding strategy of creating smarter, happier neighbourhoods that promote connection and wellness. We’ve instilled these values in our people and Emily’s appointment to lead the national development team creates the opportunity for us to embed our brand values throughout the projects and communities we create. John’s deep experience in project delivery, structuring and new acquisitions will be important as this strategy rolls out.

“The industry is facing challenging times and our strong customer focus is integral to maintaining the resilience of our business,” said Leggatt.

The management changes will take effect on 1 February 2024.
