Auckland’s newest destination lifestyle precinct, Commercial Bay, has announced its first wave of fashion store tenants, bringing together a carefully curated mix of established local favourites and first-to-market global brands.
Furla, Superette, Hershel Supply Co, and a Rodd & Gunn bespoke Lodge Bar and fashion concept will all be landmark stores at Commercial Bay in 2019. For premium Italian accessory brand Furla and Canadian accessory brand Hershel, Commercial Bay represents their first foray into New Zealand stand-alone retail.
H&M announced in 2016 that it would open a flagship store in the Commercial Bay development, making it New Zealand’s premium H&M destination.
Set to be a magnet for world-class retailers, brands and operators, Commercial Bay will be a significant new feature on Auckland’s developing waterfront. The centre and its surrounding commercial tenancies will become a key driver towards a new mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly lower CBD that focuses on the celebrated water’s edge.
Precinct Properties, owner and developer of Commercial Bay, is delighted to announce the first fashion wave, which complements the already-world class food offering that has been secured.
“This announcement provides a snapshot of the brands and retail mix coming to Commercial Bay” says Sweetman, who has led the charge of finding a perfect mix of tenants to breathe new life into the Auckland CBD. “Commercial Bay will deliver a mix of fashion, food and beauty, including more European first-to-market brands like those we have announced today, as well as a mix of the best of New Zealand boutiques. It will be home to transitional luxury through to fast fashion” said Precinct Properties’ lead fashion partnership manager, Michael Sweetman.
Commercial Bay will have just over 100 retailers with a split of around 30 percent for major retailers, 45 percent for specialty retail and 25 percent for food and beverage.
To date, 60 percent of the retail and hospitality has been pre-committed ahead of the 2019 opening with high interest in the central city location.
