The District Docklands held a spectacular open weekend for Melburnians to ‘imagine different’ and experience the new-look shopping centre, with live entertainment, activities and free entry into some of Melbourne’s top attractions.
The $150-million redevelopment and rebrand of Harbour Town Melbourne sees The District Docklands become Melbourne’s newest shopping, entertainment, dining and fresh food precinct.
The launch weekend (17 – 19 November 2017) showcased the latest fashion and retail stores, along with pop-up fashion moments, roving performers, the launch of the very successful Food Truck Park Summer Residency, an all-female guest DJ line-up, immersive kids’ activities and live street art, plus giveaways and special offers including free coffee, sweets and espresso martinis.
Drawing inspiration from the city’s iconic laneways and distinctive culture, the centre is an urban oasis and vibrant new village on the edge of Melbourne’s CBD.
A further stage of The District Docklands, commencing in 2019 is the Marriott Hotel by Capital Alliance, which will be fully integrated into the centre with an entrance forming a major feature in the fashion precinct.
