Quay Quarter Lanes, Sydney’s newest lifestyle precinct, officially opened today with a ribbon-cutting by Sydney’s Lord Mayor, Clover Moore. The ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11am in Loftus Lane, was followed by a laneway Block Party at 2pm for the local residential community.
Quay Quarter Lanes is a lively new area and community hub in Sydney’s Circular Quay, centred around Loftus Lane, and located across the road from the globally significant Quay Quarter Tower. With its mix of high-end residential apartments, boutique retail lanes and heritage buildings, Quay Quarter Lanes has opened in stages following the April 2021 opening of Hinchcliff House.
Developed by AMP Capital, the Circular Quay precinct has recently welcomed to the Lanes’ list of dining, wellbeing and lifestyle retailers Korean omakase restaurant KOBO, Bubble Nini, Side Room salad bar, Bar Mammoni, About Smiles Dental and Rose & Co florist will open in June. They join existing retailers Bouillon l’Entrecote, Adora Handmade Chocolates, Humble Bakery, Besuto, Hinchcliff House, Londres 126, Tribe Lifestyle Hair, Zini Contemporary Gelateria, Marrickville Pork Roll and The Men’s Grooming.
Matt McPhee, General Manager, Quay Quarter at AMP Capital said the precinct is reinvigorating Circular Quay by attracting new visitors to the area and supporting local businesses.
‘We are excited to unveil Quay Quarter Lanes and showcase its role in the transformation and revitalisation of Circular Quay. Our vision is to create a template for city neighbourhoods by building a culture of community that reflects on our history but reveals a new future filled with aspiration and hope. We are delighted to see this taking shape through the diverse and engaging offerings of our exceptional collection of retailers,” McPhee said.
As more retailers opened their doors to the public and the whole precinct comes to life, the range of vibrant dining and lifestyle boutiques are reinvigorating the once-forgotten merchant laneways to create a new neighbourhood.
“It’s amazing to celebrate this vision with the many great retailers who have joined our journey and the overall transformation of Circular Quay. The Quay Quarter precinct, including Quay Quarter Tower has the potential for more than 50 wellbeing, dining and lifestyle tenancies upon completion later in 2022. We are continuing to transform the area – offering workplace and cultural experiences within one precinct for professionals, residents and visitors,” McPhee said.
Covering 11,000m2 of land, Quay Quarter Sydney comprises the stunning Quay Quarter Tower at 50 Bridge Street, Quay Quarter Lanes – the boutique laneway precinct between Young and Loftus streets, as well as 104 luxury apartments.
Quay Quarter Tower achieved practical completion in April 2022 and its retail podium is due for completion later this year.
Quay Quarter will create a dynamic new neighbourhood at the gateway to the city; a flourishing harbourside destination, boldly transforming the way we work, live and play.
