The opening of ECQ XL offers something new and unique to western Sydney

Cameron Leggatt, Executive General Manager Development, Frasers Property Australia said the opening of ECQ XL offers something new and unique to the western Sydney region.

“Eastern Creek Quarter is an established community centre where local people and those from across the western Sydney region come to experience a unique retail offer, diverse dining choices, great social experiences and of course, the beauty of the Western Sydney Parklands backdrop. Now, with a fantastic line-up of large format retailers at ECQ XL open to the community, there’s even more reason for people to make a visit to ECQ a full and fun day out,” said Leggatt.

“With our focus on place-making and community development at Eastern Creek Quarter, we’re proud to collaborate with local stakeholders and the community to open this high-quality new shopping destination and we thank the wonderful retailers who will make the ECQ XL experience unlike any other retail experience in western Sydney,” he said.

The opening festivities commenced at 9am with a Welcome to Country, ribbon-cutting and traditional smoking ceremony performed by Indigenous Elders Uncle Wes and Uncle Greg.

Special guests including Blacktown City Mayor, Tony Bleasdale OAM; Chief Executive, Greater Sydney Parklands Suellen Fitzgerald; and Frasers Property Australia Executive General Manager Development Cameron Leggatt were on-hand to celebrate the important community milestone.

From mid-morning, a host of family fun and activities kicked off with musicians, roaming entertainment, fairy floss machine, magic shows and more to create a vibrant atmosphere for shoppers and visitors. The festivities will continue through to Sunday 12 June, with hula shows, contortionists, nostalgia popcorn carts, magicians, musicians, and other fun-filled activations contributing to the fun vibe for everyone.
