The Gold Coast’s iconic Surfers Paradise will soon welcome a new beachfront dining hotspot as Paradise Centre unveils eight new dining offerings as part of a stunning revitalisation set to open its doors on 9 September 2022.

The highly anticipated $40 million redevelopment of Paradise Centre boasts an eclectic, flavourful mix of restaurants, offering visitors a unique gourmet dining experience accompanied by unmatched views of the Gold Coast’s world-famous Surfers Paradise beach.

The beachside dining precinct will bring a new world of casual dining to Surfers Paradise, housing revamped classics and beachside favourites including Queensland’s very first iteration of beloved gourmet burger franchise Wahlburgers, created by the famous Wahlberg family; legendary tex-mex restaurant El Camino Cantina, which will launch their first ever breakfast offering in Australia; and, all-time American favourite TGI Fridays.

Locals can also look forward to more than 40 varieties of gelato from Gelato Messina, along with dishes by Nahm Talay Thai, crowd-pleasing favourites from Hero Sushi, authentic Italian cuisine cooked with love by Enzo’s Cucina and La Playa’s premium barista-made coffee and modern Australian cuisine.

The $40 million re-development will take beachfront dining to a whole new level

The precinct will serve as a welcome addition to the Gold Coast’s flourishing restaurant scene, set to become a must-visit foodie destination for tourists and locals looking to soak in the sights and tastes of the region.

Adam McKean, Head of Retail, Challenger said Paradise Centre’s re-development has been long awaited and is ready to change the face of outdoor dining in Surfers Paradise.

“We’re so excited to welcome a new range of delicious, mouth-watering dining options and a stunning new exterior with beachfront views to the iconic Paradise Centre location so many locals and holidaymakers already know and love,” said McKean.

“With eight new dining retailers including everything from Queensland’s ground-breaking first Wahlburgers through to El Camino’s first ever Australian breakfast menu, this redevelopment will really breathe new life into Surfers Paradise, providing the perfect place for diners to immerse themselves in world-class views and enjoy the delicious flavours of the world in style.

Located on the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Cavill Mall, Paradise Centre boasts 100-metre frontage opposite Surfers Paradise Beach

“Our redevelopment will elevate Paradise Centre’s offering with the addition of a broad range of dining options that cater to those looking for a casual beachside bite, a long lunch with seaside views or a gourmet dinner with friends.

“From authentic Mexican flavours to mouth-watering gelato, iconic burgers and barista-made coffees, there’s something for everyone to suit any tastebud. We can’t wait to welcome locals and tourists into this new precinct!”

Paradise Centre will also expand its strong retail offering on 9 September, unveiling the newly refurbished Eastern Mall as part of the redevelopment. Shoppers are invited to explore a smorgasbord of new clothing stores including Baku Swimwear, Rip Curl and Stateside Sports, which join recently launched Surf Dive N’ Ski and Vans.

The re-developed Paradise Centre will become the new focal point of the Gold Coast

Destination Gold Coast CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said the wave of new tourism investment being seen across the city continues to elevate Gold Coast’s credentials as a must-visit destination.

“Located only steps away from Surfers Paradise beach, this all-new precinct offers families and couples a diverse mix of outdoor dining options with unparalleled views just in time for summer,” O’Callaghan said.

“With a number of new hotel openings, personalised experiences and a plethora of dining options on offer, we’re seeing the Gold Coast cement its status as Australia’s favourite holiday playground.”

The redevelopment adds to Paradise Centre’s offering of 90+ specialty shops, complemented by an alfresco dining precinct and an exciting entertainment precinct which boasts the world’s largest Timezone, Zone Bowling, MANIAX Axe Throwing and a host of upcoming venue openings.

Surfers Paradise is the ‘leisuretainment’ capital of the Gold Coast; attracting some 13 million tourists each year

TGI Fridays are set to launch its new Australasian flagship, bringing an authentic taste of New York to the Gold Coast.

Signalling the Group’s first ever beachside venue, TGI Fridays Surfers Paradise is expected to become the number one TGI Fridays restaurant in Australasia, delivering a relaxed, all-day dining experience in a spectacular coastal setting with the best ocean views on the esplanade, served up with its signature bar and grill menu and that “Fridays Feeling”.

CEO of Signature Hospitality Group, James Sinclair, said: “The Gold Coast has really embraced TGI Fridays and we’re so excited to have secured this unmatched seaside address for our largest restaurant on the Gold Coast and Australasian flagship – it’s something new for us but we think this iconic location will be incredibly popular with our patrons and complement our Queensland portfolio perfectly.

“We want TGI Fridays Surfers Paradise to be a place for everyone to meet, mingle and enjoy some fantastic food and drinks in a casual setting – whether they’re coming off the beach after a day of relaxation or partying by the pool, meeting family for an early dinner, enjoying a sunset cocktail during Happy Hour, or catching up with mates for a beer whilst watching a live game on our big screens,” he said.

TGI Fridays Surfers Paradise will occupy the coveted corner position on the elevated first floor, overlooking world-famous shores and the buzzing shopping and entertainment strip of Cavill Avenue below.

Illuminated in neon, the words ‘Paradise is only one cocktail away’ will set the tone for diners upon entering the expansive 180-patron venue, with seating ranging from sleek timber booths to stools at the central island bar, and casual, window-side high-tables to soak up the salty breeze, good times and Insta-worthy ocean views.
