Residents in south-west Sydney can now experience a new frontier in retail shopping at the Leppington Village Shopping Centre.
Located at 108 Ingleburn Road, the new neighbourhood shopping centre is located less than 1km from the new Leppington train station and features a full line Woolworths supermarket with Direct to Boot pick up facilities. The centre also features more than 30 speciality stores, including restaurants and cafés, retailers, with a playground for families right outside the main entrance.
Woolworths State Development Manager Wes Dose said: “The development of Leppington Village Shopping Centre has been an important part of our ongoing investment in high-quality shopping experiences for Western Sydney residents.
“We’re delighted to celebrate the official opening of the centre, delivering a high quality and convenient shopping destination that meets the needs of the growing and evolving Leppington community, and supports new small and medium-sized businesses who have set up for their future in this area.”
A number of road upgrades now support access to the centre, and customers are welcomed by a 70 metre facade designed by the Dalmarri Group, depicting the Lomandra Longifolia native grass.
Nathan Hagarty MP, local member for Leppington, said: “I’m excited to be opening my new Electorate Office with Woolworths and all of the other great tenants at Leppington Village.”
“It has been a long wait, but locals will now have a new one stop shop for all their needs – including a visit to their local Member of Parliament!”
“The opening of Leppington Village is an important milestone in the development of the Leppington Town Centre and our growing community.”
At the heart of the Leppington Village Shopping Centre is a brand new Woolworths supermarket, offering innovative and convenient shopping solutions to local customers. The state of the art store is stocked with an extensive range of fruit and vegetables, a selection of 100% Australian meat and a great variety of local seafood available from the fish market.
Customers will also notice a large Macro Wholefoods offering and a selection of international ranges including middle eastern foods with halal meat, authentic Asian and Indian (south Asian) products.
The new Leppington supermarket has implemented a number of offerings to help customers shopping in-store and online. This includes six dedicated parking bays for the Direct to Boot service. After placing their order online, customers can simply confirm when they’ve arrived via the Woolworths app or SMS link to notify the store team.
Leading the team is Jason Smith, who has worked at Woolworths for more than 16 years. As store manager, Jason has been working with the team over the last few weeks to help prepare the store for its official opening.
“My team and I are excited to hit the ground running and offer local residents a new shopping experience,” he said. “A huge part of the journey to open our new store has been welcoming 100 new team members from across the local community, as well as 50 team members who have moved from other stores.
“We have a great range that is easy to shop, including the selection of products in our international range. It’s also all about convenience, which is why we’ve got six Direct to Boot spots ready for customers who would like to pick up their groceries on the way through.”
Leppington Village Shopping Centre is a 5 Star Green Star development, rated by the Green Building Council of Australia. To reduce the environmental impact of the Centre’s operations, the building includes approximately 650 solar panels on the roof, which have the capacity to generate more than 400-megawatt hours of electricity each year – the equivalent of more than 70 Australian households’ annual energy consumption.
Situated close to Leppington train station, the shopping centre will also promote active and low-emission transport options through the inclusion of 30 cycle bays and six electric vehicle charging bays.
