Melbourne Central has announced the opening of 25 new stores between September and December this year, after recording its busiest month of foot traffic since the pandemic.
More than four million people walked through the doors of Melbourne Central throughout the month of July, with the centre’s Moving Annual Turnover (MAT) sales also exceeding pre-pandemic levels in June.
After a record breaking few months of retail, 25 new stores will open across the centre by December 2023, including seven new food retailers and 12 fashion and beauty retailers.
US juice chain, Jamba, suitcase brand, Nere and entertainment attraction, Monopoly Dreams will open their first Australian locations at Melbourne Central this year.
Denis Ryan, Melbourne Central Centre Manager, says Melbourne Central prides itself on being home to some of Australia’s most sought after and iconic brands.
“We’re very excited to be able to offer our customers Australian retail firsts like Jamba, Nere and Monopoly,” said Ryan.
“Our diverse range of retail, dining, and entertainment offerings sets us apart from other CBD retail precincts, and we will continue to seek new and exciting retail opportunities to provide an unmatched experience for our customers.”
Melbourne Central is expanding its fashion portfolio with Supre opening a new flagship store under the iconic Shot Tower and the likes of Nude Lucy, Stylerunner and Superdry also set to open.
Food and entertainment offerings are also increasing, with HOMM Dessert, Krispy Kreme and Pokero opening by December.
