Karrinyup is set to open a dedicated Wellness Precinct as part of the $800 million development of the shopping centre, which AMP Capital is managing on behalf of UniSuper. The Wellness Precinct is a first for a West Australian shopping centre and will bring together multiple tenants to provide a comprehensive range of holistic health and wellness services, from sound healing to a day spa.

Karrinyup’s wellness precinct will operate across more than 2,500m2 and is set to officially open its doors next Monday, 14th March. AMP Capital’s General Manager for Karrinyup, Ben Davis, said the launch of the wellness precinct would help position Karrinyup as a truly unique retail and lifestyle destination in Perth.

“The needs and expectations of shopping centre customers have been evolving for many years. People now want more than just a place to shop. Karrinyup’s new wellness precinct will help us provide our customers with just this; a state-of-the-art lifestyle destination which supports customers in achieving a healthy and active lifestyle and a positive mindset.”

The holistic wellness precinct will bring everything from Reformer Pilates, The Jungle Body, yoga, boxing, strength training and HIIT to mindset training, meditation, nutrition, breathwork, chiropractic, physiotherapy and sound healing. There will be primal dance, kinesiology, hypnosis, a health bar, a fully functioning gym and a day spa with eight treatment rooms including a couple’s room, two designated wet treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge with a full range of beauty treatments from remedial massage to pregnancy massage. All under one roof.

“At Karrinyup, we’re committed to delivering something exceptional and we’ve worked closely with our wellness partners Synkro and Endota Spa to curate an offering that our customers won’t find anywhere else in WA,” said Davis.

Perth’s first Synkro will open at Karrinyup as part of the wellness precinct

Perth’s first Synkro will open at Karrinyup as part of the wellness precinct with CEO Andrew Ballantyne, commenting that its aim is to create a healthy retreat for mind, body and spirit.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Synkro to Karrinyup which will focus on providing a truly holistic wellness service to customers. In addition to offering a huge variety of group and personal fitness classes and gym equipment, we will offer customers access to a range of spiritual practitioners and mindfulness rooms. This includes a bespoke sound healing experience at Humming Hive and our Tonikz bar which will sell healthy smoothies and raw food, while our creche will cater to busy parents,” commented Ballantyne.

The wellness precinct is located above the centre’s Fresh Market. Customers will be able to access it directly through discreet parking located at the west multi-deck car park.

An on-site creche will be available for Synkro members and centre customers to use while they make use of the wellness facilities and the wider centre.

The major $800 million development of Karrinyup Shopping Centre was completed in October 2021 and has seen the centre almost double in size. Karrinyup now features approximately 290 fashion, lifestyle and beauty stores alongside an expansive entertainment and dining precinct.
