Melbourne’s largest shopping destination west of the CBD, Highpoint, is preparing for retail’s biggest season of the year with the launch of extended summer trading hours, Christmas celebrations and new-look retailers ready to open their doors in time for Christmas.

From Saturday 12 November until the end of February 2023, shoppers can relax and enjoy longer and later visits to Highpoint with Sunday to Wednesday weekly trade extended until 6pm, and the introduction of a third night of late-night trade until 9pm on Saturdays – a first for Melbourne’s west.

The additional late-night hours are expected to be popular with shoppers and regional weekend visitors to Melbourne seeking even more time to shop at Highpoint’s 450+ in-demand fashion, lifestyle, and apparel retailers. The expanded retail offer on weekends also further complements Highpoint’s already thriving late-night entertainment precinct The Junction, with up to 20 dining retailers currently open seven days a week until late.

More new and expanding retailers are also set to join Highpoint’s retail mix, ensuring there is something for everyone.

Australian fashion house Aje will launch two new Highpoint stores Aje and AJE ATHLETICA from early November. Joining Aje will be a brand-new and expanded Lush and Kathmandu, offering the very latest in retail experiences for customers, while fresh food shoppers will be spoilt for choice with the highly anticipated opening of Coles just in time for Christmas.

Aje, Lush, Kathmandu and Coles also join Toymate, Australia’s fastest-growing toy retailer who launched in October in time to delight children excitedly preparing their Santa wish list items.

Summer trading hours will commence on Saturday 12 November with a special Christmas Tree Lighting evening event to officially welcome Santa, creating an ideal night out for the whole family to shop, dine and be entertained this season.

Christmas at Highpoint officially commences on Saturday 12 November from 5-9pm complete with rooftop fireworks

Commencing at 5pm, Santa will make his grand arrival at Highpoint’s magical Christmas Village on Level 1, before taking his official position for the first family photos of the season. A fanfare of musical acts and dancing Christmas characters will provide a warm welcome to the main man in red. The holiday cheer will spread throughout Highpoint’s three levels of retail, open late until 9pm, before Santa is escorted to The Junction for an outdoor Christmas Tree Lighting complete with music, lights and a spectacular rooftop fireworks display.

Highpoint Centre Manager Cristina Persico said, “Christmas is such a special time of the year for all families, and we are thrilled to be launching the festive season with a spectacular Tree Lighting and fireworks event, extended summer trading hours and even more best-in-class retail experiences. The addition of a third night of late-night trade on Saturdays over summer will provide visitors from across Melbourne and regional Victoria with even more choice and convenience by being able to make a weekend of it with the added convenience of over 7,300 free car parking spaces available daily.”
