CIM, the world’s leading property operations SaaS platform that enables teams to work more collaboratively and accelerates the journey to net zero emissions, has added an additional 10 Westfield Living Centres to their existing partnership with Scentre Group, owner and operator of 42 Westfield Living Centres across Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership now spans 31 key retail sites across Australia and means that CIM’s PEAK Platform is now supporting reductions in environmental impact and improvements in operational efficiency in some of the largest and most prominent retail centres in Australia. Among the 31 key retail sites are Westfield Chermside (176,835m2), Westfield Fountain Gate (178,394m2), Westfield Bondi Junction (131,169m2) and Westfield Mount Gravatt (142,916m2).
Scentre Group’s Varun Nair, General Manager – Operations & Environment said the partnership is a further demonstration of Scentre Group’s strong track record on sustainability.
“Since Scentre Group was established in 2014, we’ve already reduced our emissions by 30%. We have an interim emission reduction target of 50% by 2025 which we are on track to deliver. Our Next Gen Living Centres harness smart technologies, big data and learning algorithms to ensure our centres are safer, more comfortable, and operationally efficient.
“Technology like the PEAK Platform, available to us through our partnership with CIM, enables us to enhance the insights we get from our own building management systems, ultimately helping us scale back energy consumption and improve our environment for our customers,” he said.
David Walsh, the CEO and founder of CIM, says “Scentre Group is universally recognised as a global leader in the retail property sector and has been an early adopter of innovative data driven solutions to improve sustainability. We are delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Scentre Group and further empower their operations teams to improve environmental outcomes, optimise operations and provide accurate real-time data-led insights.
“The expansion of our partnership with Scentre Group is testament to the value they have already gained from our technology. The partnership’s strength is helped by Scentre Group’s unique operating platform with a vertically integrated business model and strong commitment to sustainability,” said Walsh..
In October, GRESB acknowledged the Scentre Group’s ESG disclosure and performance with Global Sector Leader Status and a GRESB 5-star rating in the 2022 Real Estate Assessment. Sustainalytics reaffirmed the Group’s rating in the top 1% of more than 14,000 companies globally
CIM is now monitoring 31 of Scentre Group’s Westfield Living Centres, up from 21 sites during the period 2019-2022. The additional ten sites mean CIM’s PEAK platform now operates across more than 3 million square metres of space in Westfield Living Centres in Australia.
