Bankstown Central has announced new retailers set to join the centre later this year as part of the revitalisation of the centre’s retail precinct.
International retailer, Uniqlo, will expand its global footprint into Bankstown Central, joined by Australian house of brands, Glue Store and Government agency, Services Australia. Existing retailer, Footlocker, will also relocate into a new store within the upgraded retail precinct.
Bankstown Central Centre Manager Eddie Paynter said, “The introduction of these leading brands and services are a significant enhancement to the retail offer at Bankstown and by meeting the needs of our customers, we are providing even more reasons to shop at Bankstown Central.
“Once complete, the new retail precinct will become the go-to retail destination in Bankstown, delivering locals unparalleled choice and convenience.
The new retail brands are being introduced at the same time as Vicinity completes the first stage of a major upgrade of the centre’s fresh food precinct, The Grand Market, providing a brand-new Coles supermarket and a wide selection of specialty food retailers, which are due to open in November this year.
“The refurbishment and redesign of the centre’s retail precinct provides immediate benefit to the community of Bankstown and is another step forward to achieving Vicinity’s vision to transform the heart of Bankstown’s town centre into a vibrant retail and mixed-use neighbourhood where the community can work, stay, dine and shop,” said Paynter.
Complementing the variety of new and existing retailer openings is the work currently underway in the centre to refurbish the mall areas and introduce new furniture, finishes and other interior design features. Retailers will open progressively from mid-September.
