A third tranche of retailers has committed to open dining, lifestyle and wellbeing retail premises in Sydney’s Quay Quarter Lanes being developed in Circular Quay by AMP Capital on behalf of investors.

Quay Quarter Lanes – the first city block to come to life within Quay Quarter Sydney – saw a new restaurant and bar venue in Hinchcliff House open its doors in April 2021. Now the development is preparing to welcome another group of retailers including Londres 126, Tribe Lifestyle Hair, Zini Contemporary Gelateria, Side Room and Sweet Grana. These retailers will join previously announced operators Hinchcliff House, Marrickville Pork Roll, The Men’s Grooming, Kobo and Skittle Lane. On completion Quay Quarter Lanes will include over 20 boutique retailers.

The highly popular Hinchcliff House opened earlier this year by Home Made Hospitality

Quay Quarter Lanes will be an entirely new, energetic destination and community hub in Sydney’s Circular Quay. The lifestyle precinct will breathe new life into once forgotten merchant laneways, creating a new neighbourhood which centres on Loftus Lane, located across the road from the globally significant Quay Quarter Tower, currently under construction.

With high-end residential apartments, boutique retail lanes and heritage buildings, Quay Quarter Lanes will deliver a vibrant new retail anchored in food and lifestyle, shops and boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants. Each retailer will bring a unique offering to the precinct, delivering character-filled experiences at every time of the day.

Owner of the Milpa Collective, Pablo Galindo has already delivered five authentic and contemporary Mexican and Latin American cuisines in the Eastern Suburbs and plans to create a 57-seat restaurant called Londres 126 in Quay Quarter Lanes.

Galindo said, “My team is creating a sensorial journey through Mexican cooking techniques and cocktails in a fit-out inspired by the experiences and parties thrown by artist Frida Kahlo, at her address Londres 126, in the 1940’s” he said “we are putting a great deal of consideration into our cuisine to make this a wonderful new experience for Sydney-siders”.

Matteo Zini of Zini Contemporary Gelateria is launching his first foray in the Sydney market with his new gelato, coffee and specialist line of healthy take-out gelato in Quay Quarter Lanes.

“We think our unique, crafted methods are perfect for the Sydney customer and I’m looking forward to introducing my style to the local restaurants, too” Zini said.

Quay Quarter Tower – Artists Impression, the building will open in 2022

Michael Wheatley, Development Director for Quay Quarter at AMP Capital said Quay Quarter will help lead the way through a host of new and enticing city experiences, as Circular Quay continues its transformation.

“With the potential for over 50 wellbeing, dining and lifestyle tenancies in the entire Quay Quarter precinct (over 20 of which are located within Quay Quarter Lanes) upon completion in 2022, Quay Quarter aims to be a global model for future city neighbourhoods with workplace and cultural experiences that bring together professionals, residents and visitors. We are confident that the Quay Quarter Tower retail offer will also reflect the same level of interest and uniquely skilled operators as we are welcoming to Quay Quarter Lanes” Wheatley said.

“These latest lease agreements indicate the strength and confidence people have in the vision and development progress on this significant transformation of Circular Quay, “ he said,

Wheatley added, “It’s encouraging to see the heart of Sydney starting to open back up, as locals explore their own backyard and border restrictions begin to ease. We are continuing to work with retailers ahead of our planned September 2021 opening to ensure we offer an engaging and safe experience for all and we look forward to unveiling more of Quay Quarter Lanes in the coming months.”

Quay Quarter Lanes exemplary food offer will be a welcome addition to local CBD workers, residents and tourists.

Artisanal tenancies with a keen eye for architectural design and an interest in fit out that will appeal to the residents and cultural visitors in the Quay are showing interest in the precinct.

“I’m excited to be part of this new precinct and open another city salon”, said Luke Smart of Tribe Lifestyle Hair, who has committed to lease for a hair salon lifestyle tenancy.

He said, “I hope to not only welcome back my city-based customers but also look after many residents and professionals in the Circular Quay area”.

In a nod to his confidence in the precinct, food entrepreneur Scott Brown and his partners at Home Made Hospitality who have recently launched Hinchcliff House, will also open a tenancy dedicated to desserts, known as Sweet Grana, located next door to the heritage wool store.

Quay Quarter Lanes is planning to open in September 2021, and Quay Quarter Tower will open to the public in 2022.
